Women's health is a broad term for subjects that range from pregnancy and childbirth to mammography.

This website will cover three main topics: pregnancies, abortions, and the menstrual cycle.

Pregnancies

Pregnancies are a natural part of life and reproduction and A Women's Web is here to help with any confusions you may have. Below are some statistics on pregnancies:

The pregnancy rate for U.S. women in 2009 was 102.1 per 1,000 women aged 15-44, the lowest level in 12 years

The birth rate for married women was 72% higher than the rate for unmarried women

In 2013, 18-19 year olds accounted for 72% of all pregnancies among young women aged 15–19

Around 85% of teen pregnancies are unplanned and 7.2% of those teen do not receive medical care

Pregnancies can be difficult to handle; A Women's Web strives to create a safe place for women who may have questions or concerns about their pregnancy!

Abortions

In recent years, abortion has become a hot topic for discussion, in the midst of the political and social atmospheric change. It is a topic of debate over moral, ethical, and legal issues of abortion.

In 2016, approximately 893,000 abortions took place in the United States—down from approximately 914,000 abortions in 2015

The abortion rate of non-metropolitan women is about half that of women who live in metropolitan counties

The abortion rate for unmarried women was almost five times higher than the rate for married women

9 in 10 abortions occur in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy

As the topic becomes more and more prelevant, it is important to acknowledge both sides of the issue. A Women's Web strives to provide knowledge and support for women who may be struggling to make a decision.

Menstrual Cycle

The Menstrual cycle is a monthly bleeding that occurs when a woman's body sheds the lining of her uterus. Menstruation begins during puberty and ends at menopause.

Each of the 73 million menstruating women in North America will throw away approximately 16,800 disposable pads or tampons in her lifetime; that's 125-150 kg of waste

During her lifetime, a woman will menstruate an average of 3000 days and will lose 2-3 tablespoons of blood each period

In Africa, one in ten adolescent girls miss school during their period

Around the world, only 12 percent of young people with periods have access to the products they need

At A Woman's Web we look to raise awareness at common period problems, including the cost and expense of living for women. In California, period products are estimated to create a revenue of over $20 million annually, just from taxes! In India, the lack of sanitary products causes 23% of teenage girls to drop out of school. We work to creating an affordable lifestyle for females across the globe!
